Award

The applicants will be paid a monthly allowance of 2,065. This rate may go up or down depending on the previous education and work experience you bring to the program.

Duration

The duration of these PhD scholarships last for a maximum of three years.

Requirements for eligibility:

• The applicant must have obtained a master’s degree in either:

o   computer science

o   Telematics

o   technical mathematics

o   Software development.

• The applicant must have accepted a place of study at the Graz University of Technology
• The applicant must have prior knowledge of:

o   social semantics,

o   social media analysis

o   recommender systems

o   web science

o   social semantic web

o   science 2.0

o   machine learning

o   social network analysis

o   information retrieval

• The applicant must have experience in object oriented computer programming with Java and a variety of databases
• The applicant must be well versed in many different computer software programs
• The applicant must be able to work in a team as well as work independently
• The applicant must be highly motivated and ready to take on the challenges that come with working in a fast paced PhD computer program.
• The applicant must speak English. Applicants who speak English as their second language will be required to undertake English language tests such as the TOEFL in order to assess their level of understanding.
• The applicant must be in compliance with the terms of their visas at all times
