The Sapienza University of Rome is a public autonomous state university located in Rome, Italy. Sapienza University of Rome is one of the oldest public universities function in Rome. The university is ranked respectably among the highest of universities in Italy as well as the world.

The PhD Scholarships: International PhD Fellowship

The Sapienza University of Rome is pleased to announce the limited availability of their International PhD Fellowships. The university will be awarding 19 PhD scholarships to qualified international applicants. These International PhD Fellowships can be applied towards any doctoral degree program available at the Sapienza University of Rome.

Value: These International PhD Fellowships award an annual stipend in the amount of € 19,800. Part of the stipend is intended to go towards the payment of health insurance that is mandatory for all international students. These PhD scholarships do not award for tuition fees at the international rate.

Duration: The maximum duration of these PhD scholarships is for three years with successful academic marks. Recipients will be evaluated annually to ensure that academic progress is being maintained.

Eligibility: The applicant must satisfy all requirements for entrance into a doctoral research program at the Sapienza University of Rome. These PhD scholarships are intended towards international applicants. The applicant must hold international status throughout the duration of their scholarship program. The applicant should have obtained a Master’s degree or an equivalent degree that qualifies the applicant for doctoral studies. The applicants must be in compliance with the terms of their visas at all times during the duration of their doctoral studies.

How to Apply

The applicant must successfully enroll at the Sapienza University of Rome. Applicants should clearly state on their applications that they wished to be considered for one of these nineteen International PhD Fellowships. The applicant must meet all eligibility requirements for the university as well as the International PhD Fellowship program before being considered.

The applicant is responsible for ensuring that all of the appropriate documentation is received by the Sapienza University of Rome for consideration. This includes copies of all previous academic transcripts, list of publications, and at least two letters of recommendation made by academic sources. The applicant is also mandated to supply photocopies of their passports as well as any other identity cards that they might hold. Applicants are required to prepare a short statement illustrating why they have chosen their degree path and how they expect to apply their degree to the scientific world around them.

All of the required documents must be in the English language and must be submitted in a PDF file format.

Deadline

The deadline for these International PhD Fellowships is the 10th of June. Successful applicants will be listed as well as individuals that are eligible if for some reasons a recipient cannot accept their award are posted online at the school’s official website no later than the 15th of July.
