The University of Warwick

The University of Warwick is a public research university situated in Coventry, England. The university was established in 1965 as part of the government’s initiative to increase access to higher education. The university is ranked acceptably for academics as well as student satisfaction. The university sees an annual enrollment of over 22,000 students.

The PhD Scholarships:

There are numerous PhD scholarships available at the University of Warwick. Currently we are going to review 33 PhD scholarships available to students studying at the University of Warwick. Award

Each of these PhD scholarships are all fully funded PhD scholarship opportunities. This means that recipients receive a tuition waiver for the domestic tuition rate as well as a generous stipend in the amount of £13,726 annually. International applicants are still welcome to apply for these positions if they can demonstrate their ability to cover the difference between domestic and international tuition rates. There are a limited availability of international PhD scholarships for the above programs and they are highly competitive.

Duration

These PhD scholarships are set to last for a duration of 3-4 years depending on the individual research program.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must have an upper second class or first class honours degree or an impressive master’s degree in a subject relative to the research project they are hoping to be chosen for.
  • Applicants are required to communicate efficiently. Applicants that originate from countries where English is not their mother language are required to submit language assessment scores. The IELTS or the TOEFL are acceptable.
  • The applicant must compose a very clear and well thought out research proposal. The research proposal should be direct stating a firm hypothesis and then outlining the research the applicant anticipates conducting to prove or disprove their original hypothesis.
  • The applicant is required to compose a personal essay or statement illustrating the reasons they believe that they deserve these fully funded scholarship opportunity and what they anticipate using their doctoral degrees for.
  • The applicant must have been offered a place of study at the university in a full time doctoral program before scholarship consideration.
  • The applicant must supply at least two academic references.
  • The program encourages applicants with previous research experience to apply as they will be given preference.

Deadline

Unless stated above these scholarships have a rolling admission meaning they are available until all positions are filled. To maximize success turn in all applications as early as possible.
