The University

Griffith University is a public university of research in southeastern Queensland. The university is composed of five large campuses spread throughout Australia. The university enrolls over 43,000 students making it one of the largest research universities in Australia. The university prides itself on approaching education with a more problem based approach. The university derives its name from Sir Samuel Walker Griffith who served as a justice on the High Court of Australia as well as former Premier of Queensland. PhD Scholarships: International Postgraduate Research Scholarships

The Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship: The Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship or GUIPRS is a PhD scholarships that is awarded during the mid and year end scholarship round up.

  • Award: The GUIPRS pays the full cost of tuition as well as health insurance for international applicants and their dependents. However, the health insurance only covers a maximum duration of 42 months. Recipients will be responsible for funding the remaining 14 months of the program.
  • Duration: The GUIPRS is awarded for a maximum duration of three years for PhD scholarships and a maximum of two years for master degrees.
  • Eligibility:

o   Applicants must have a valid visa throughout the duration of the PhD scholarships.

o   Applicants must be international applicants that have already completed their Bachelor’s degree with honours. The applicant is encouraged to have already completed their master’s degree or the equivalent.

o   The applicant must be enrolled full time at the Griffith University.

o   The applicant must supply at least two letters of recommendation from previous scholars.

o   The applicant must show proficiency in the English language.

o   For applicants that did not receive honours on their degrees they may submit research publications, and conference papers to be taken into consideration.

The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships: The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship or IPRS is intended for international students to commence study on a full time basis.

  • Award: The IPRS pays for tuition fees as well as covers the cost of health insurance for the applicant as well as their dependents.
  • Duration: The duration of these scholarships is three years for PhD scholarships and a maximum of two years for Masters.
  • Eligibility:

o   These PhD scholarships are intended for international students in a full time study program at the Griffith University.

o   The applicant must show proficiency in the English language if they originate from countries where English is not their first language.

o   The applicant must supply at least two letters of recommendation from previous academic supervisors or scholars

o   The applicant must be in compliance with the terms of their visas at all times during the duration of these PhD scholarships.

o   The applicant must have a history of academic excellence.
