The University

The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University or RKMVU is a four campus university located in India. The four campuses the university operates from are the main campus at Belur, then additional campuses at Ranchi, Narendrapur, and Coimbatore. The university was awarded university status in mid-2005. The university specializes in courses catered to subjects such as disability management and special education, rural and tribal development, Indian cultural and spiritual heritage, mathematics, science education, as well as a variety of other subjects. The university was originally proposed to offer students a safe place to study and grow both educationally and spiritually regardless of their standing class, faith, nationality, gender, or religion.

The PhD Scholarships

The RKMVU is pleased to announce the availability of their PhD scholarships for the departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Agricultural Biotechnology, Environmental and Disaster Management, and their School of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physical Education and Environment. These PhD scholarships are intended for use in a full time doctoral degree program with the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University.

Duration

These PhD scholarships last for a maximum duration of three years in a full time doctoral degree program at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University. Recipients will be required to undertake a annual evaluation to ensure that academic progress is being met.

Eligibility: The applicant must be enrolled in a full time doctoral degree program at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University. The applicant will be mandated to attend an interview or a written test if they are shortlisted as prospective recipients. Applicants that have already received the Junior Research Fellowship or any additional government fellowships or fellowships from various government sources are able to apply. Applicants that are eligible for INSPIRE are allowed to apply and must be able to appear for both an interview and a written test. Applicants that have Junior Research Fellowships from any government resource are not required to appear for their written tests but are mandated to appear in person for their interviews. The scholarship is open for Indian students wishing to commence studies at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University.

How to Apply

The applicant must complete an enrollment application for the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University for a full time doctoral degree program. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the university receives all of the appropriate documentation needed to render an informed decision.

This includes all previous academic transcripts, prior publications or experience used to supplement academic history. This also includes at least two letters of recommendation from academic sources. Each department at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University has its own additional eligibility requirements for admissions. Applicants are encouraged to research their prospective department to ensure that they meet with all the eligibility requirements mandated by those departments.
