7 Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships at Radboud University Nijmegen Netherlands

The University

Radboud University Nijmegen is a public research university located in Nijmegen, Netherlands. The university was established in 1923 and has since then been offering internationally recognized degrees. The university is ranked in the top 200 universities in the world and sees an annual enrollment of over 19,000 students.

The PhD Scholarships

There are many PhD scholarships available for students studying at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Below we are going to review 7 PhD scholarship opportunities available at the university. Theses PhD scholarships are awarded through the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior. Each of the seven PhD scholarships are attached to individual research projects being conducted at Radboud University Nijmegen.

Research Projects

The research projects are listed below:

  4. Language in Interactions: The Language Game: Complex Communications and Mental State
  5. Language in Interactions: Neural Processing of Gestures, Actions, and Language in Health vs Autistic Individuals
  6. Language in Interactions: Neurobiological Computational Models for Language Processing
  7. Language in Interactions: Data Driven Investigations of Dynamic Brain States in Language Processing

Award: These PhD scholarships are all fully funded. This means that they cover 100% of the tuition fees for domestic applicants as well as provide a monthly stipend in the amount of €2,664. International applicants are still encouraged to apply; however, they will be responsible for covering the difference between international and domestic tuition rates.

Duration

Recipients will initially be awarded these scholarships for 18 month and if after careful academic review the applicant may have their scholarship extended to cover the full 3-4 years needed to complete their PhD degrees.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must have an upper second class or a first class honours degree or a master’s degree in a relative subject to the research project they are wishing to be considered for.
  • The applicant must be able to communicate efficiently. Applicants that are travelling from countries where English is not their first language will be required to submit English language assessment scores. The TOEFL or the IELTS are acceptable for this requirements.
  • Doctorate students should be prepared to conduct at least 38 hours of work weekly on the research project that they have been assigned.
  • These are highly motivated and competitive positions. Applicants must demonstrate that they can work effectively in a team setting as well as an independent source.
  • The applicant must compose a research proposal that clearly illustrates in detail the approach the applicant projects to take while performing their research.
  • The applicant must send a short essay that explain the reasoning for wanting to undertake the research or doctorate program.
  • The applicant must provide all their previous academic transcripts as well an up to date CV or resume.
  • The applicant must supply two references.

Deadline

The deadline for these PhD scholarships is end of September.
