The University

The University of Padua is a public university located in Padua, Italy. The University of Padua is among one of the oldest universities in the world being established around 1222. The University of Padua was originally a law school and has consistently been amongst the most prominent institutes for higher education in the earlier modern days of Europe. The university is also the second oldest university currently in Italy. The university has a reputation as being a leading university and consistently ranks high among other universities. The University of Padua sees an annual enrollment of over 65,000 students.

The PhD Scholarships: 15 PhD Fellowships

The University of Padua is pleased to announce the availability of 15 PhD scholarships or fellowships. These doctoral fellowships are intended for international students to apply towards their doctoral degrees at the University of Padua.

Value

These PhD scholarships cover an annual allowance of 13,638 Euros. Applicants will be offered full room and board for the duration of their programs. Recipients will also be exempt from paying attendance fees for the University of Padua.

Duration

The maximum duration of these PhD scholarships is for three years in a full time doctoral degree program.

Eligibility: The applicant must be of international student status. The applicant must meet all academic requirements and must supply all previous degrees and academic transcripts for consideration. The applicant must be coming from a full time university. The applicant must be younger than 35 years of age. The applicant must be in compliance with the terms of their visas at all times during their studies. The applicant must supply at least two letters of recommendation from academic sources. The applicant must prepare and be ready to present their personal research proposals. The applicant must be able to be subjected to an interview. International applicants are required to create a Skype ID so that they may be contacted for a video interview by the university. The applicant must have a good working knowledge of both the English language as well as Italian.

How to Apply

Applicants are encouraged to fill out an enrollment application for the University of Padua. Applicants must be offered a position at the university before they will be considered for a scholarship.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all of the appropriate documentation is received by the university. The university is not responsible if information is not received.

Applicants must meet all of the above requirements and ensure that everything is turned in before the scholarship application deadline. Applications must be completed in either Italian or English and must also come with a translation into either Italian or English.

Successful applicants will be invited to interview over Skype. During these interviews applicants will be asked to demonstrate their comprehension of both the English language as well as Italian. The interview is also where applicants can explain work experience or other academic qualifications that make them stand out.
