Vinnova is a Swedish government agency governs state funding for research and development. Vinnova was established in the beginning of 2001 and works under the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy, and Communications. The mission of the agency is to promote Sweden to an internationally leading country in innovation and research. It also wishes to promote Sweden into a country where business wish to conduct and invest business. Vinnova does this by promoting partnerships between research institutes, university, companies, and the public.

The PhD Scholarships: Marie Curie Fellowship for International Researchers in Sweden

Description: The Vinnova agency is pleased to offer the limited availability of their Marie Curie Incoming Fellowship for International Researcher in Sweden. The Vinnova is offering 100 of these Marie Curie Fellowship to research applicants that are working out-side the Sweden in either a private or a public organization.

Award: This PhD scholarship awards recipients with a grant that covers up to 50% salary at the Swedish employment rate. This PhD scholarships is projected to be used to cover the cost of living as well as travel. The Marie Curie Fellowship also offers additional funding for applicants that have dependents such as training and conference fees, as well as school fees. The Marie Curie Fellowship offers candidates up to SEK 50000 annually.

Duration: These rates are covered for the full duration of the research project. This fellowship is co-funded by the European Union.

Requirements for Eligibility: This PhD scholarship is meant for applicants that already have a doctoral degree. However, applicants that present a minimum of four years of full time research work experience will also be eligible to apply for these PhD scholarships. The applicant must be an international researcher that concentrates at least 67% of the research project in working in Sweden. Current recipients of any other Vinnova fellowship are not eligible to apply or receive the Marie Curie Incoming Fellowship. Recipients of this fellowship should be project leaders with the ongoing research project and the main entity on the application. Applicants may not be recipients of more than one Marie Curie Fellowship at the same time. Applicants that are wishing to be eligible for these scholarships need to complete any other Marie Curie Fellowships they are recipients of. After completion of the other fellowship the applicant will be considered eligible for this Marie Curie Incoming Fellowship.

Applicants that are interesting in becoming a part of the Marie Curie Incoming Fellowship or other services through Vinnova are encourages to submit an electronic application through Vinnova’s online portal.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to understand all the procedures and guidelines to applying for this fellowship or any other services through Vinnova. Qualified applicants will be reviewed by an international peer review and programme board.

Deadline: The deadline for these PhD scholarships is the 16th of September. After a complete review of all of the information provided the board will render its decision no later than the 10th of December.
