21 PhD Scholarships

The University of Edinburgh is pleased to announce the availability of 21 PhD scholarships. These PhD scholarships are offered over five different departments at the University of Edinburgh.

College of Art

The College of Art at the University of Edinburg is pleased to offer 5 out of the 21 PhD scholarships. These PhD scholarships are offered through the five schools that compose the College of Art:

  • School of Design
  • School of Art
  • History of Art
  • ESALA
  • Reid School of Music.

The school is offering 5 scholarships known as their ECA PhD Scholarships: These scholarships offer a stipend of £13,000 for a duration of three years. One scholarship is awarded per school.

The school is offering the additional 5 scholarships known as their ECA 1 Year PG Scholarship: This scholarship offers £5,000.

School of Engineering

The School of Engineering is offering 4 PhD scholarships. Each of these PhD scholarships is attached to specific research projects. Those projects are listed below:

  1. Modelling and Measurement of Powder Flows in Flexible Wall Containers
  2. Emerging Risk in Fire Investigation: Emphasis of Battery Fires
  3. Clustering, Meso-strutctured and Non-Classical Crystal Nucleation in Liquid
  4. Multiphase Flow Modeling for Enhanced Oils and Gas Drillings and Productions

College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine

The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine is offering 4 PhD scholarships. Each of these PhD scholarships is attached to specific research projects. Those projects are listed below:

  1. Drosophila Models to Investigate the Function of Genes Associated with Genetic Disorders Emphasis on Ciliary Dyskinesia.
  2. Disease Burdens Due to RSV Associated with Acute Lower Respiratory Infection Relevant in Scotland.
  3. Data Mining of Birth Cohorts and Routine Collection of Health Data for Stratifications of Depression: Deadline 4th of August
  4. Measurement of Psychological Resilience and its Mechanisms Using Various Modellings: Deadline 4th of August.

School of Informatics

The School of Informatics is offering two PhD scholarships. Each of these PhD scholarships are attached to research projects. These projects are listed below:

  1. Future Mobile Networks
  2. Computer Architectures for Data and the Cloud

Economics

The University of Edinburg is offering a PhD scholarship for their economics doctoral program. This program covers some of the following areas: economic theory, applied econometrics, health economics, Labour economics, and behavior economics.

Award

Each of these PhD scholarships are fully funded PhD scholarships. The scholarships also offer stipends in the amount of £13,863annually.

Duration

These PhD scholarships are offered over a duration of 3 years.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must have an upper second class or first class honours degree in a relative subject to the research project that they are wishing to be considered for.
  • Applicant have to be able to communicate effectively. Applicants who do not speak English as their first language they are required to provide language assessment scores.

Each of these PhD scholarships have application that can be accepted throughout the year unless stated above.
