The University of Surrey is a research university located at South East, England adjacent to the Guilford Cathedral. It was formerly known as the Battersea College of Technology that provides higher education to the poor inhabitants of the area. PhD Scholarships Summary: Many of the 31 PhD scholarships in the university will only be able to accommodate applicants who are able to fund their own postgraduate position while some scholarships are still waiting funding. For EU and UK students, they will be able to choose among many postgraduate programs and have their tuition fees covered by the department. International students are still encouraged to apply if they are willing to shoulder the difference in the tuition fees.

PhD Scholarships Awards: Depending on the PhD scholarships, EU and UK students will be provided with funding between £15,500 and £19,500 every year. Applicants who exhibit suitability to the program and its demanding nature will be entertained first.

PhD Scholarship Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least an Upper Second Class Honors Degree
  • Previous research and laboratory work related to the disciplines
  • Motivation and discipline to maintain exemplary academic standing throughout the program
  • IELTS score of not less than 6.5 for students whose first language is not English
