The University

The Liverpool John Moores University is a public university located in Liverpool, England. The university takes its name from John Moores a Liverpool businessman. The university started out as the Liverpool Mechanics’ School of Arts but gained university status and a name change in 1992.

The university holds membership with many prestigious organizations. The university sees an annual enrollment of over 24,000 students. It is amongst one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom.

PhD Scholarships

The Liverpool John Moores University is pleased to offer 13 PhD scholarships in a variety of different departments. Each PhD scholarship is designed to be attached to a specific ongoing research project.

The Departments

The different departments that these PhD scholarships affect are the School of Build Environment, the School of Natural Sciences and Psychology, and the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences. Each of these departments offers a wide variety of different PhD research projects.

The School of Build Environment is offering 5 out of these 13 PhD scholarships connected to a variety of different research projects. Some of the research projects include the:

  • Integration of Fabrics and Service Performances with Energy Performances
  • Developing and Characterizing Novel Sensor System
  • Pavement Life Cycle Assessments

The School of Natural Sciences and Psychology is offering 6 out of these 13 PhD scholarships connected to various research projects. Some of the research projects include the:

  • Mandibular and Dental Reduction in Genus Homo
  • Experimental Investigation of Pain Receptors in Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Emotional Processing in Autism Spectrum Disorders

The School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences rounds up the last 2 of these 13 PhD scholarships connected to two ongoing research projects. These two research projects are:

  • Chemical Profiling in Ballistic Material
  • Mechanism of Pathological Adipogenesis

Award

Theses PhD scholarships are all fully funded scholarships that cover tuition as well as offer a stipend in the amount of £13,726 annually.

Duration: Theses PhD scholarships are conducted during a three year study period.

General Requirements

Requirements: These requirements are general requirements that apply for all the PhD scholarships. Each individual research project has additional requirements.

  • The applicant must have a master’s degree or a degree that was awarded either first class or second class honours.
  • International applicants who do not speak English as their first language are required to provide their English language qualifications.
  • The applicant must submit a research proposal, an up to date CV, and a personal statement illustrating their research intentions.
  • These scholarships cover tuition at the domestic rate. International applicants will be required to pay the difference between domestic and international tuition rates.

Applicants that are interested in applying for any of these PhD scholarships are encouraged to submit their applications to the university. On their applications that applicant clearly needs to indicate which department and which research project they wish to be considered for. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they present all previous academic transcripts and degrees to the university.

Deadline

Each of these PhD scholarships has a different deadline. The deadlines for the scholarships fall between the 11th and the 21st of July.
