18 Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships at Imperial College London for 2014-15

The University

The Imperial College London is a public research university situated in London, England. The college specializes in the following areas:

The PhD Scholarships

The Imperial College London is pleased to announce the availability of 18 PhD scholarships. These 18 PhD scholarships are offered in a variety of different research subjects. The first 15 PhD scholarships are awarded through the Centre for Fluid Dynamics across the Scales at the Imperial College London.

The Centre uses the following departments:

  • Bioengineering
  • Aeronautics
  • Earth Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering

The goal of the Centre is to provide a quality education across many different research areas.

Award: These PhD scholarships are open to all applicants and will pay domestic tuition rates as well as offer a stipend of at least £ 13,726. International applicants are still eligible to apply if they can demonstrate their ability to pay the difference in tuition rates.

Duration: These PhD scholarships are offered for a duration of four years.

Deadline: These PhD scholarships will be reopening for the upcoming school year.

The Last Three PhD Scholarships: Departments of Bio-Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Life Science

The next three PhD scholarships are awarded to three different departments. Each of the PhD scholarships is attached to its own research project. The departments and research projects are listed below:

  • Department of Bio-Engineering: Mathematical Models of Multi-Scaled Controlled Mechanisms for Skin Barrier Homeostasis.
  • Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering: Studentships for Sustainable and Resilient Timber Structures
  • Department of Life Science: Transcribing Control and Immune Evasion for African Trypanosomes.

Award: These three PhD scholarships are all offered as fully funded scholarships. These PhD scholarships are open to all applicants and will pay domestic tuition rates as well as offer a stipend of at least £ 13,726. International applicants are still eligible to apply if they can demonstrate their ability to pay the difference in tuition rates.

Duration: These PhD scholarships are offered for a duration of 3 to 3.5 years.

Deadline: These three PhD scholarships are open until a qualified applicant is found.

Requirements for Consideration:

  • The applicant must have an upper second class or first class honours degree or the academic equivalent. The degree must be relative to the research project they have chosen to embark on.
  • The applicant must be able to communicate effectively. Applicants who don’t speak English as their first language must submit language assessment scores.
  • Theses PhD scholarships are only allowed for full time studies.
  • The applicant must compose a research proposal with summaries and outlines for their research purposes.
  • The applicant must provide at least two references
  • The applicant must submit a personal statement or essay explaining their reasons for undertaking the program that they chose.
  • The applicant must submit an up to date CV or resume.
