The University

The Swinburne University of Technology Australia is a public technical university in Melbourne, Victoria. The Swinburne University of Technology Australia is comprised of three main faculties that conduct both research and teaching. The three main faculties are:

PhD Scholarships

Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship

The Swinburne University is pleased to offer a limited number of their Vice Chancellors International Scholarship. The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship or VCIS are PhD scholarships available only during the mid-year round up. These PhD scholarships are available only to international students undertaking full time studies in a research degree. This scholarship is intended as a PhD scholarships and applicant’s wishing to undertake master’s studies at the university are not eligible for this award.

Value

The scholarships allows for a stipend of $25,392 annually as well as covers the cost of health care for international students and their dependents. In addition the VCIS will cover the full cost of tuition fees for international students. Additional allowances can be made to cover the cost of relocation and a thesis allowance. These amounts are determined on individual basis upon the proof of receipts and additional criteria.

Duration

The duration of the Vice Chancellors International Scholarship is three years.

Eligibility: The applicant must be an international student. The applicant must have accepted an offer to study at the university as a full time doctoral research student. The applicant must have at least two letters of recommendation. The applicant must be commencing doctoral studies at the university

How to Apply

Applicants that are wishing to apply for the Vice Chancellors International Scholarship are encouraged to state so on their application for admission. There will be a box where applicants will check that they wish to be considered for scholarships.

Applicants will then be required to ensure that the university receives all of the appropriate paperwork needed to make a determination.

 

International Postgraduate Research Scholarship

The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship or IPRS are intended for international students wishing to study full time at the university. The IPRS will be awarded to an applicant that shows academic merit and a significant potential for research. This scholarship is not convertible but is transferable with prior approval from supervisors.

Value

The IPRS covers tuition rates at the international level as well as covers the cost of international health care.

Duration

The duration of the IPRS is a maximum of three years

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be of international student status
  • The applicant must have accepted an offer to study at the university in a full time research doctoral degree program
  • Applicants must be in compliance with their visa requirements at all times during the duration of their scholarship
  • The applicant must show proficiency in the English language

How to Apply

Applicants must successfully apply for a place of study at the university before being considered for these scholarships. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all the required documentation is delivered to the school before the deadline.

Deadline

The deadline for the IPRS is  31st of October for the main round.
