The Royal Holloway, University of London is a public research university situated in Surrey, England. The school is made up of three faculties and offers over 18 educational departments. The PhD Scholarships

The Royal Holloway is pleased to announce the availability of four PhD scholarships. These PhD scholarships are awarded through two different departments of the college. The departments are the Department of Economics and Information Security Groups.

Information Security Groups

Description: Information Security Groups is offering three of these PhD scholarships. They are each linked with three different research projects:

  • Application of Game Theories and Cyber Security
  • Cryptography Theories and Practice
  • Security of Mobile Devices, Tokens, and Physical Cyber Systems.

Scholarship Award: Each of these PhD scholarship are fully funded. They cover the cost of tuition for the domestic tuition rate and allow a stipend in the amount of £22,590 annually for a maximum duration of four years

The Department of Economics

Description: The Department of Economics at the Royal Holloway is offer the fourth PhD scholarship. This PhD scholarship can be applied to any doctoral economics program at the college. Applicants will have to conduct a research project that has something to do with the subject of economics.

Award: This PhD scholarship is fully funded. They cover the cost of tuition for the domestic tuition rate and allow a generous stipend to allow applicants to focus solely on their doctoral programs. This PhD scholarship last for a duration of four years.

Requirements for Consideration:

  • The applicant must have received and accepted an offer to study at the Royal Holloway, University of London in a full time doctoral program
  • The applicant must have an upper second class or first class honours degree or a master’s degree in a related subject to the area they are wishing to be considered for.
  • Applicants who do not speak English as their first language will have to submit language assessment scores. The IELTS is the standard test applicants are able to take.
  • The applicant must submit an up to date CV and all previous academic transcripts
  • The applicant must provide at least two references.
  • The applicant must submit a very well thought out research proposal outlining how they plan to conduct their research as well as their hypothesis.
  • The applicant must submit a personal statement or essay illustrating why they feel they are deserving of these PhD scholarship opportunities and why they are conducting the program.

Deadline:

Each of these PhD scholarships have open deadlines where you can submit your application throughout the academic school year. Applicants wishing to be considered for a certain semester should ensure that they turn in all of the applications and documentation in as early as possible in order to be considered for certain semesters. The upcoming spring semester intake asks for all applications to be in before the 17th of January.
