6 Fully Funded International PhD Scholarships at Norwegian School of Economics Norway for 2014-15

The University: Norwegian School of Economics

The Norwegian School of Economics is a public business school located in Bergen, Norway. The school was established in 1936 and is the oldest business schools located in Norway. The Norwegian School of Economics offers many prestigious programs and is ranked respectably amongst other business schools around the world. The Norwegian School of Economics sees an annual enrollment of over 3,200 students.

Norwegian School of Economics: PhD Scholarships

The Norwegian School of Economics is delighted to offer six PhD scholarships for a variety of different departments in their school. The six PhD scholarships are:

  • PhD Scholarship for Economics
  • PhD Scholarship for Management Science
  • PhD Scholarship for Marketing
  • PhD Scholarships in Accounting
  • PhD Scholarships in Finance
  • PhD Scholarships in Strategy and Management

PhD Scholarships: Award

Each of these PhD scholarships are fully funded PhD scholarships. This means that the scholarships will cover the domestic tuition rates. International applicants are still welcome to apply if they are able to demonstrate the ability to cover the difference between domestic and international tuition rates. The scholarships also offer stipends in the amount of 420,800 NORK which is the equivalent of $68,800 US dollars, and €50,600. These PhD scholarships are subject to taxes at the Norwegian tax rate. These PhD scholarships are also subject to benefits such as health insurance.

PhD Scholarships: Duration

These PhD scholarships are offered for a maximum duration of four years.

Requirements for PhD Scholarship Consideration: The applicant must have an upper second class or first class honours degree in a relative subject to the research project that they are wishing to be considered for. In this case applicants must have master’s degrees of science in economics or related business subjects such as management, finance, accounting, and marketing. Applicants are required to submit their scores from the GMAT assessment. Applicant have to be able to communicate effectively. Applicants who do not speak English as their first language they are required to provide language assessment scores. The IELTS assessment provides an adequate language assessment. Applicants are required to submit research proposals clearly illustrating and outlining their research intentions. The applicant must provide all previous academic transcripts and must have research experience in the research area that they are interested in pursuing. Applicant must provide at least two reference. These should be academic references. Applicants are required to submit a personal statement or essay illustrating their reasons for pursing these degree programs. Recipients of these scholarships are required to participate in teaching and assistantships at least 25% of their doctoral program. The applicant must have accepted a place of study at the Norwegian School of Economics in a full time doctoral program. The applicants must provide an up to date CV or resume that illustrate their previous academic training as well as any previous research experience they have acquired.

PhD Scholarships: Deadline

Each of these PhD scholarships have open deadlines. The Norwegian School of Economics will accept applications throughout the year.
