The University

The Cranfield University is a public postgraduate research university located in Oxfordshire, England. The Cranfield University is unlike any other university as it has access to its own functional airport. The school was originally established in 1946 and has since then been building partnerships with countries such as Australia and India and developing many research advantages. The Cranfield University sees a yearly enrollment of over 4300 students.

The PhD Scholarships

There are numerous PhD scholarships available for students that are studying at the Cranfield University. Currently, there are over 31 available PhD scholarships for consideration.

Award: All of these PhD scholarships are fully funded. This means that they cover the domestic tuition rate 100% as well as offer an annual stipend in the sum of £13,700.

Duration

These PhD scholarships are set to last a maximum period of 3-4 years in a full time study setting.

Requirements:

  • The applicant needs to have a greater second class or a first class degree or a master’s degree related to their chosen research topic.
  • The applicant needs to be able to converse professionally. Applicants that are travelling from countries where English is not their primary language will be requested to submit English language valuation scores. The TOEFL or the IELTS are satisfactory for this request.
  • The applicant must comprise a research offer that clearly demonstrates in detail the approach the applicant projects to take while performing their research. This includes having a clear outline and hypothesis.
  • The applicant must compose a short personal declaration or composition that demonstrates their motivation for wanting to commence their research or doctorate program.
  • The applicant must deliver all their preceding academic records as well an updated CV or resume.
  • International applicants should not have any settled status or other visa complications. In many cases there are funding for international students in the above scholarships but they must meet additional requirements such as having resided almost full time in the UK for a period of three years before scholarship award.

Deadlines

Each of these PhD scholarships are subject to their own deadlines. These deadlines range from the end of July to having applications accepted throughout the year. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they meet all deadline requirements.
