The University of Edinburgh is one of the ancient universities being amongst the top ten oldest in the world as well as one of Scotland’s finest universities. The university was first established in 1583 and is currently sited in Edinburgh, Scotland. The University of Edinburgh is amongst the most popular and most prestigious university choices in the world with alumni such as Charles Darwin, Alexander Graham Bell, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The university sees a yearly enrollment of 33,000 applicants.

The PhD Scholarships

Summary: There are many PhD scholarships available for applicants that are wishing to conduct their studies through the University of Edinburgh.

Number of Scholarships: Currently, the University of Edinburgh is pleased to be able to offer 47 prestigious PhD scholarships that are offered through many different departments within the university.

Scholarship Award: Each of these PhD scholarships is funded through different entities related to their research projects. In some cases applicants are offered full tuition scholarships that will cover the domestic tuition rate as well as offer a generous living allowance. Outside scholarships are welcome to help fund any additional fees that might accumulate while participating in these research projects.

Scholarship Deadlines

Each of these PhD scholarships has either open deadlines or approaching deadlines. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they have all the required documentation submitted to the University of Edinburgh in a timely fashion. There will be no exceptions made for late applications and all documentation must be submitted so that the university may make an informed academic decision.
